French violin c.1860, full size, bearing the original label 'copie de Gasparo da Salo in Brescia'
The pictures do not do this beautiful instrument justice. I have tried through the photos to give the viewer an idea of the beautiful markings, as it is not a typical french polished violin. If you are looking for an excellent quality instrument that will be suitable for you to play for years to come, this is absolutely worth coming to see. I have owned it for 20yrs and had many years of enjoyment and successful playing with it, but unfortuntely no longer play due to my sporting commitments and cannot warrant keeping it on a shelf. I have recently had some setting-up work done to the violin, as it has not been played for a few years, so you can be assured that the violin is in excellent working order. This included a new sound post, new rosewood pegs, new bridge and a clean inside and out. It was also fitted with new strings. The bow was also inspected and deemed to be in good order and not requiring any work. All work was carried out by Ealing Strings, who also provided the valuation both for sale and insurance purposes. I will happily supply the new owner with all paperwork. A case is obviously provided with the violin. Currently located in SW London, please let me know if you wish to visit to play/ view the violin and we can arrange a mutually convenient time. Many thanks.
