About Us

The aim of TAF Music is to help musicians (and parents of younger musicians) with their musical needs as well as providing a website to give second hand musical instruments and used printed music a new lease of life!

The TAF Music website was developed by Malcolm Allaway, a web programmer with a long involvement in music. His background in live concert audio and radio production has, through the years, brought him into contact with a range of musicians. As his own children have progressed along their individual musical journeys, he has entered into many discussion with parents trying to resource musical instruments for their children. To put all of this together, he has developed this website where you may find answers to these questions:

• Where can I find a music teacher?
• What music shops are around?
• Where can I buy a second-hand instrument?
• Where can I get my instrument repaired?

As this site progresses, and people add their instruments and printed music for sale, teachers and musical-related business add their details, we will have a resource that will meet all of these needs.

Our aim is to make this a useful place for musicians, their parents, buyers, sellers, teachers and others who work together to ensure the performance of live music continues.

As an expression of our desire to support the musical community, we are proud to sponsor one of Britain’s national musical treasures - The National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain. TAF Music will donate all current profits from this website to the NCO. Placing an ad on this site will not only keep your instruments or music in use but will also help the NCO. You may also download an A4 size colour poster in PDF format (4.8mb) to publicise the website and encourage people to advertise on the TAF Music website.
