This is a rare Boosey &Hawkes 926 Imperial Bb Clarinet, in ebonite circa 1947.   The Imperial 926 Clarinet was manufactured to the same standard as the Imperial Symphony 1010, both top of the range professional quality instruments.   Tested and Checked. Sounds lovely.   The bore and body are in very good condition; there are no cracks, damage or wear, only slight surface marks. On two of the keys, there is a little wear to the plate, but overall the keys are in very good shape. There is no wobble or slackness in the regulation. The matching serial nos. are 49691, which probably dates circa 1947 (See list for reference http://www.uark.edu/ua/nc/ClarinetCollections/Boosey%20&%20Hawkes%20Clarinet%20Serial%20Numbers.htm).    The Mouthpiece is a stamped 926 mouthpiece and again in very good conditions.   The case is old, and possibly original, it still functions well and comes with keys for the locks. The clarinet bears two Boosey and Hawkes ‘Imperial’ stamps.   The body and bell are not stamped with a 926 stamp.   B&H experts have confirmed that up to the early 50's there was no "926" marked on the instrument and the logo you mentioned first was certainly in use to at least 1953.
